They have a lot of food & if you're looking for some specials on alcohol they have that too. The place is very big & even bigger than it looks. When you walk in they have a large bar area & tables around the bar. However if you don't want to sit by the bar they have an area to the back with regular tables & booths. The area around the bar is filled with flat screen tv's. This place has a huge menu of food & their beer selection almost seems limitless. The staff here has always been friendly & the service has always been fast. My favorite dish that they have here would have to be the shrimp po boy & in second definitely the shrimp macaroni & cheese. This place also has a digital jukebox & a few video poker & video slot machines. Besides the favorites that I listed they also have some delicious appetizer platters. The potato skins are pretty good & so are the buffalo wings. They can put a few high top tables together which works very good especially if you have a large group. Overall the service is quick & the staff is friendly. The food is very good & is reasonably priced. Overall I would definitely come here again if I was in the area.

Came here on a weekend and the weekday bartenders were not here. Terrible bartenders, terrible customer service. They were out of a few beers and one bar tender didn't even offer any suggestions. Just walked away. I came in a Saturday expecting a good time. Wrong! I'd rather come on a Thursday. So I had to update my review, I was pretty upset Saturday night by the rude service but this was the first time that I had experienced that. So I have to be fair and give them them their stars back. I am sure that it was just an off night for them.

Solid place! I came in for the all you can eat wings and was pleasantly surprised. Wings were super hot and tasted very fresh. Sauces were decent too. I enjoyed the garlic parm the best. You do have to order a drink though but craft beers were 3 dollars so I was able to purchase an angry orchard for that price My most favorite thing? In small print on the menu it said gluten free buns were available for the burgers! One dollar burger night, here I come!

I went out with my coworkers to get to know them better. We chose a place nearby so I could easily get to the highway. We find that this place has $2 ale drafts and $.089 chicken tenders. I got blue moon with a shot of orange liquor (not part of the $2 special) in mine which was awesome and delicious. Also, it warmed me up. The chicken tenders were good too. We had ours with Caribbean Jerk. It was subpar compared to Buffalo Wild Wings, but I still liked it. It was a great time and a good deal.

This place is pretty average. We had the chips n queso appetizer (it was chalky and bland), we both had the soup (andouille, was decent), hubs had the unlimited fish fry (he said it was good; they give 3 pieces initially and each refill plate had 2 pieces), and I had the Cajun chicken and pasta (average, tasted like all of the other restaurant's Cajun pasta). We would come back again if we're in the area. (Waitresses were spot on, I saw other reviews of their bad service, I disagree, they were really attentive). Ps none of the coupons we had (4 of them) worked.

I came here on a Thursday night, and I was lucky to grab a table just as they were cleaning it off. Every bar seat and every other table was occupied, it was as if the entire city of Carol Stream came out on this Thursday night to...well, it was either to apparently watch the Bulls game, or because there aren't many other options in the area. Oh, and Thursdays are $2 pint night. I grew up in the area, and there weren't many options back then. Obviously, much hasn't changed. Bulldogs is a breath of fresh air in comparison to the still sparse options of chain restaurants and craphole sports bars. But beware - the mood changes at Bulldogs around 9-10pm. Earlier in the evening, I was one of the younger people here. When I left, I was one of the oldest. The later it got, the pulsating music was cranked louder, as if they were transitioning into a dance club. But nobody was dancing. Ugh - identity crisis! The beer list is respectable; I honestly didn't expect much from Bulldogs, and I'm not sure why. I went with a Green Line, I'm not sure what my friend was drinking, but there are enough options on draft or in bottles to satisfy even the pickiest beer snob. I wasn't super hungry, so I thought I'd just order an appetizer. I had the pretzels with cheese, which turned out to be EIGHT quite large pretzels. My friend had a burger, which was massive, and ordered a dessert which was big enough to serve 4, at least. The pretzels were good. Bulldog is a welcome option in an area that doesn't offer much, but it's not a destination.

Came here for lunch after moving into the area this last Saturday. Restaurant appeared to be somewhat steady as I came in with three other people for late lunch. We immediately got sat at a table, but then it took at least a good 5-10 minutes for a waitress to come to our table just to get drink orders. After receiving our drinks and waiting another 5 minutes, we finally ordered our entrees. Once the entrees came (I ordered the shrimp po boy sandwich), they were mediocre at best. The shrimp on my sandwich tasted like it was frozen shrimp that got put in a store bought breading with no spices and then deep-fried. The rest of my group thought their entrees were just okay. The bar looked nice and they seemed to have a solid beer selection. I wouldn't mind giving this place another try, but only in the sense of going out on the weekend with friends to drink or catch a game.

Monday nights they have $1 burgers, so I thought it would be great to take the boys here. Yes, they are 1/4 lb. burgers for a dollar, but fries are $3.50 and onion rings are $7! So no real deal there. Our service was kind of spotty. There was 5 of us and it seemed like our server had a big area to deal with. Maybe since it was a Monday they cut back on servers, I don't know. We had a variety of things from the menu, burgers, chicken tenders and I had a portobello mushroom aka "the earth burger". I was told the tenders were good and my mushroom was good, but just got an "ok" for the burgers. Once you sign up for the email list from here, they send you coupons, but from what I saw it looks like the coupons just deflate the overblown prices. The inside is nice and clean and not too noisy, so I had no problem bringing my kids to a bar, but next time I think I'll just go with hubby and toss back a few cold ones!

We came here for some drinks with friends and we had a good time. Decor: There really isn't much I can say here because it is a pretty standard suburban bar. That isn't a bad thing, I'm just saying there really isn't anything special. They do have outdoor seating though, which is a bonus! Bathroom: A little sub-par and could use a cleaning... but it's a bar bathroom. Staff: Our waitress was decently quick with orders and delivering drinks. She was also good at checking back in with us multiple times to see if we needed anything at all. Food/Drink: They have a crazy-extensive beer list! It's great! That list includes Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy, AWESOME. The food (I had the wings b/c it was all-you-can-eat) was not that great. I think they need to really do something different as the wings were NOT good. Value: You get a good bang for your buck here and they also have plenty of nightly specials that are worth checking out. I liked this place for a drink, but I am pretty unsure about the food. I'd try something else if I came in again but I would be cautious. However, it's a good place and would be fun to watch a game there.

I've been here for food a couple times and for drinks a dozen times - great selection of beers on tap. Thursday night is $2 drafts which is something we take advantage of every so often. Food is fine - what kills this place's score for me is the service is horrible. It's notoriously bad - you frequently have to track down your waitress and it can take forever to get a drink. They also added video poker recently which is a huge turnoff for me. I'll keep going back because it's so close but if there were better local options I would avoid.

Can you say false advertising? "Would you like to add a side salad for $1.99?" I say sure. I asked for ranch as my dressing. I didn't ask for any additional..... Check came....and I was charged $1.99 for salad plus .50 for ranch dressing? I asked the waitress thinking that was a mistake...nope. She says we charge extra for salad dressing. Any salad dressing for your $1.99 salad! Wth! The owner should really rethink this. Upsetting tactics.

A group of 6 of us came here before we went bowling to kill some time. Happy to say this was a good spot to come to. We came for Happy Hour, the food was hot and delicious, and the prices are reasonable and fantastic. Would definitely recommend coming here and I would come back again in the future.

They have specials every day of the week and that's great for a bar. I love that they have slot machines and a pool table. Their food is pretty good too and comes out within a decent amount of time. What I don't like is their service....I've been here a few times and I've met one person that was friendly, ONE. I think he was a manager, but I've met another manager that was a completely incompetent arrogant prick. The girls there are snotty and seems like they hate their jobs....not to mention one of the bartenders needs way more training....she literally dumped a pint of beer trying to fill one glass....

Went there on a Friday night. Fish fry was greasy. They need to bring the oil temp up. Waitress was fine but tried to hurry us. Couldn't get a booth because we didn't have enough people...thinking back, 3 of us should have been fine as paying customers. Not impressed with the flat bread french dip pizza. Barely any beef but tons of onions. Not going back anytime soon.

Thursday's. That's all I need to say about this place. 2 dollar drafts and .89 cent tenders. I love the spicy garlic. The only thing that made it give it less than 5 is the service. They are incredibly slow here. Other than that, no complaints. Food is good too.

I've been 2 times now, several years apart. Both times I've had great service and food. This time around I ordered the Reuben, some Mozzarella sticks, and a "Daisy Cutter" beer. Portion sizes were great with sandwich, as were the prices and wait time for the food to come. As a traveling trainer, I'd recommend this place for both the pace and food choices. You want good food late at night and fast? This is perfect choice for you.

Service is A ok! Nothing special. However, the food and the specials that they have make up for it. But please stay away from the pizza. Best comparison is Pizza Hut.

This was my second visit to Bulldog Ale House. I didn't eat anything; I was just along for the ride with my sister, nephew, and mom. They have a huge menu of different types of bar foods. They have specials everyday, too. I know Mondays are dollar burgers, and Wednesdays, the night I was there, they feature 1/2 price pizza. My mother ordered 5 boneless bbq wings and a side salad, and my sister ordered the El camino burger (a Mexican themed burger with tortilla Strips, bacon, cheese, sour cream, etc.) with waffle fries. They have plenty of sides options, and like I said, a huge bar menu. Bulldogs is a cool place. They offer specials every night and the atmosphere is laid back. There is a bar section and a restaurant section, but you can order food and drinks at both, obviously. There are plenty of tables and the atmosphere is nice. It was dimly lit in the dining room, which is standard of course. The bar probably gets rowdy, as everyone one does, when there's a major sporting event of any type, but there was nothing big on TV that night. I will note there are plenty of TVs in the venue too. The service was okay; our servers weren't on the same page (one was a trainee) and they kept coming back and asking the same things and actually forgetting simple requests. Oh well, maybe just an off night. I won't go out of my way to get bulldogs, but it's a nice place to have as an option in Carol Stream. A solid 3 star joint!

This place opened up walking distance from my house and it is amazing. Great beer and food. I particularly like their wraps and appetizers. They have good daily specials and when the weather gets warm there is outdoor seating.

I made a reservation at Bulldog Ale House and they called to confirm it the day of, which I liked. I also requested outdoor seating (which was one of the reasons I chose here) and they said they don't normally hold outside tables but would be happy to help us out! I liked that. The waitress, Kristina, was very kinda and attentive. The kitchen messed up our appetizer order and she took care of it almost instantly. The food was outstanding overall. Huge menu to benefit most people! I also liked that the servings were not abnormally large but a nice meal that didn't leave me feeling gross or food coma-like. My Dad had a burger, Mom had the pot roast sandwich and I had the southwest panini. We were all VERY satisfied with our meal. Drinks, Food, Service, Ambiance... all great! If i had any critique, It was strange to me that people could smoke on the patio without it being 15 ft from the entrance door. Smoke doesn't bother me, really... but if you are extremely bothered by smoking, the outside patio is not for you.

(DONT PUT MONEY IN THE TOUCHTUNES) This place is pretty good. The food is good and the drinks are ok (a bit light handed). The only problem I have is that the Bar manager Donnie loads the TouchTunes player with about $60 and plays only what he wants. If you're looking to eat or drink it should be a fun time just be prepared to drink to the manager's playlist (which isn't good) unless you plan on being around for about 4 hours when your song actually plays.

It was my first time here and I will definitely be back! I came here after work with friends for dinner and some drinks and both were very satisfying! They have food and drink specials everyday of the week. I went on a Wednesday and it was 1/2 pizza and $3 you call its! I took advantage of the $3 drinks! I got a burger and fries which were both amazing! The staff was super friendly and our waitress came by our table many times to make sure everything was good. The atmosphere was fun. I will definitely be back for the good deals!

Much improvement has been made to the quality of the food and service here. The waffle fries are awesome, the pasta is definitely a hidden hem, the buffalo pizza is unreal, and the burgers are phenomenal when they're cooked to order.

I am originally from the the South Side of Chicago"Beverly." Bulldogs pizza, which I was skeptical about ordering, was amazing! It was like a combination of Fox's Pub pizza, with Lou Malnotti's crust! I was going in there to order one of their famous burgers! Yet, I gave in and the bartender reassured me the pizza was very good! All four dishes I have eaten at Bulldogs have been superb, and the service has been wonderful. A "Go to place!," In the west Burbs for sure!

$2 beers on Thursdays...enough said. Came here with friends before heading out to music in the park in Carol Stream. I like this place! I think it would be a fun place to go to on the weekend! $2 for any draft beer?!?! YES PLEASE! They also had 89 cent chicken tenders...add some hot sauce to them and they are delish! Our server was just OKAY, but the manager was very attentive and checked on us and chatted with us a couple times. I love when the managers do that! The have a dining area with plenty of seating and a bat area. They also have an outdoor patio to enjoy! They have specials through out the week as well. I fun addition to the western suburbs and I cant wait to go back!

I made a reso on open table for this past Thursday and put a special request to sit in the bar. When I got there there was no table reserved for me and the manager approached the host an insisted I did not put that request in when I made the reso. I went back on open table and tried again to put the reso in adn take the special request to sit in the bar. I did Notice and told the host that it doesn't work to put a comment in open table.when.making a reso. She said she would tell her manager. Idk if she did. Normally the manager is pretty nice but I found it insulting that he was trying to say that I never made that request to sit in the bar when I did. As if I was lying. The host was very apologetic however the manager did nothing. Good thing we ended up sitting at the bar and Blaine was our bartender and absolutely hilarious.

Pizza tasted like Pizza Hut. Our waitress was so inattentive. I had to literally get up and get service from other waitresses. We were very disappointed and will never ever be back.

We went here because I was craving Loaded Fries and Buffalo Wings. When we got here we ordered Queso Dip and Buffalo Wings instead, because I DO WHAT I WANT, YO. Also, Pregnancy cravings change at a moment's notice, because your body is your enemy. The queso dip is filled with lies. There is no cheese and salsa mixture, it's cheese and also cheese. I'm thinking next time if I order it ( which is pretty unlikely), I'll just get a cup of the chili and mix it in. There are no rules in outlaw food. For the wings we ordered 3 different sauces - Cajun, Sweet Chili, and Inferno Buffalo. The cajun sauce didn't really taste like anything at all. The Inferno buffalo had some heat. The majority of the time when a place has 'inferno wings', they're usually pretty tame. These had a good level of heat. The Sweet Chili sauce was awesome. I would definitely get the wings in that sauce again, it was the favorite of both the man and I. Afterwards I ordered an Ultimate Grilled Cheese, it comes with a couple of different cheeses and some bacon. How could that possibly go wrong, right? They bring my grilled cheese out, cut in half, and the cheese is very obviously not melted whatsoever. So whomever made it, cut it and looked at it and said ' Yeah, that looks about right!' Now, i'm not a cooking expert, there's a lot of stuff I can't make, but a grilled cheese is a relatively easy thing to master. Slap cheese between two slices of bread, heat until melted - BAM! A couple reviews had referenced the waitresses walking around in outfits similar to Tilted Kilt, but all of the waitresses I saw were in either normal-sized t-shirts or jerseys, and they all had jean shorts. There was nary an ass cheek in sight. I'd go back for wings, I loved the sweet chili sauce. It's what's saving this from being a 2 star review. I'd probably just avoid the rest of the menu besides the appetizers. If you mess up a grilled cheese, i'm not going to feel adventurous enough to try out the rest of the menu.

A high school reunion topped with terrible service. I mean TERRIBLE service. I'm a server at a bar and I would NEVER treat customers the way these servers and bartenders do. I'm talking extremely rude and slow. Unfortunately I'm forced to go here often since it's practically the only bar in carol stream that for some reason people like to go to. Advice for the servers and bartenders. You're probably wondering why you don't make much in tips. Well, read the info above maybe?

Service is okay, our waitress just seemed very boring--but prices are great, and it's a good stop to watch a game. The burgers were 3 dollars as a special and the beer list is great. everything from IPA to Goose Island, etc. It's a younger crowd, I saw teenagers here that came in to watch a game. It's in a good location located in a strip. I'm glad I chose this place instead of Fox and Hound or a Chili's to catch a Bulls game. If I was in this part of the suburbs again, I would definitely come. They have a separate dining room which is great for families but my fiancé and I went to the bar. As the night went on, it became extra crowded.

Wasted times. This place is bad for the young soul. This is a really depressing bar. Service: I have been here twice and have been disappointed twice. Waitresses here seem to not give a damn about doing a good job. I been here on a moderately busy day and didn't get my order until about an hour and a half later. It was All You Can Eat Wings Day.... My final time, service was still bad and our order took close to an hour to come out. How much time does it take to cook up 10 wings? You shouldn't have to walk up to someone else to get refills on drinks either. Friendliness is lacking from the waitresses as well. You are supposed to be having a good time at a bar! Not getting frustrated over serving yourself. Food: Probably the least exciting food I have had in awhile. Fries were lukewarm and not very flavorful even with Ketchup. And the All You Can Eat Wings might as well be All You Can Eat Bland. Every sauce I tried from their limited selection was very lackluster. It always ended up just tasting like the blandness of the chicken meat. At least the food didn't make me sick. I don't want to bother with trying other options considering the service. Atmosphere: Not my sort of crowd. Literally all the creepers and dropouts from my High School go here. As biased as that sounds, I am not even the least bit exaggerating. Place feels devoid of the typical sports fans or young people. You go here if you were part of the awkward social outcasts or you're over 40 in the lonely suburbs. This isn't Bulldogs fault by any means, but be warned. I highly doubt you will find your one true lover or best friend here. Unless you are the type who excessively swears and talks about sticking it to the man as a hobby. This place depresses me and felt like it sucked away a bit of my youth. The food, the crowd, and the service all tell me never to return.

So, I tend to only take the time to write a review when my experience is either really good or really poor. Our experience at Bulldog was pretty poor. To be fair, the food was pretty good. No real negatives there. The personal pizzas were blah, but burgers, tenders, nachos, etc... were fine. No complaints. The draft list is decent, I wouldn't call it great as I've read from others. They could use more craft beers, but cannot complain about $3 for a 23 oz. draft on a Saturday. Where Bulldog lacks is in the service. The waitresses truly look miserable. The bartender had no personality...zero. She seemed very full of herself and could use some hospitality and service training. There was a young guy with a beard running around who was very helpful and seemed engaged. Maybe he was the Manager? Our group was there for a few hours and we moved from the bar to a table. After a while the bartender asked us to close the tab because she was leaving. We closed the tab and she stayed behind the bar for two more hours and was there when we left? Kind of odd as we had to then re-open another tab. Also, why have a music jukebox if they don't allow you to use it? I put money in it and one of the workers ran up and said it's locked until 10 p.m.? Doesn't make any sense to me as you're basically stuck listening to what the workers want to hear. Overall we liked the place. The value is there for the money in food and drink. It could just be so much better with a little work and training. Will probably come back for the inexpensive beer specials.

Stopped in while nearby on business. Had read mostly good reviews, so decided to give Bulldog a try. Mostly positive; excellent service at the bar; good beer selection. It was "all you can eat" wings night, so I tried both Spicy Garlic (pretty good) and Caribbean Jerk (okay). Stomach woke me up about 4 am, can't pinpoint the wings, (I didn't have THAT many) but I'll probably skip them if I visit again. Lots of TV's, but not the channel selection of other sports bars. If you want to watch a national channel or a local Chicago team, it's a good spot.

I love this place when it's slower. But if you come even when there's a hint of a dinner rush...forget about getting good service. Good drink specials and food is good, but all around the service ruins the experience

I think it is pretty neat that there are daily specials for food and drinks. I've only had the opportunity to come on a Friday. On that day, they have $3 Jameson, $4 Guinness, $5 Irish Car Bomb and a $10 fish fry. As the night went on, the service got a little slower. Even though they would pass by, they would not stop at our table. We had to flag over our server a few times to get our orders in, and even then some of our drink orders would be forgotten. That was a bit challenging. Granted, I was out with a group of roughly 10-15 people, so I suppose that's forgivable. The servers were pretty cool and chill though. My Jamo and ginger was pretty solid through the whole night, and didn't feel like I was getting gypped and drinking only ginger ale, so that's cool. I had some medium buffalo wings, but there was nothing in particular to rave about. It's more of a safe "go-to" bar food item, which was fine by me. My friends who had the A-Y-C-E fish fry wished for more of the sides (fries and coleslaw) to come out each time they ordered another plate of fish.

Beer, beer, more beer, tables, high tops, TV's, lots of TV's and a clean facility with very nice employees. I loved this place, specially for a chill night when you want to just watch a game and get a drink or two (or thirty) with friends. The place is HUGE!! Dining room and bar are separated which is nice. The bathrooms are big, they needed a little up keepin at the time, but I'm sure they're not always like that. The waitresses could be a bit more attentive though, when a guy brings me a drink faster than you do, guess who's gonna get that tip?! lol j/k What did it for me was their beautiful patio area with a fire pit!! Perfect for summer nights. They have darts, pool, and video games. It's lively, large, inexpensive and fun. Can't go wrong. Next time I'll try the food. :)

I'm going to break it down easy for you here: Beer: They've got everything from trash to treasure. The treasure end doesn't have as many choices, but there's some good ones on there to choose from. Plus, we came on $3 draft night so it was cheap too. Food: Not bad. I got a burger and it was cooked perfectly and loaded with toppings. Just the way I like it. It seems like there are awesome deals in this department as well...although I passed up the 1/2 price pizza. Service: We had an awesome server but I can guess it's not always that way in the bar judging from the looks of people around us. This one's a draw. I guess you can always sit on the restaurant side if you're really worried about it...though I can't vouch for it. Atmosphere: The place looks nice, it's pretty big, and there are two sides to choose from. If you want sports bar, you've got a side with a bar, tables, pool tables, darts, blah blah blah, and if you want restaurant, they've got a side for that too. The clientele on the bar side is a little annoying (as is the crappy music they play all night on the jukebox) but if you don't mind screaming over said crappy music at the people around you, then you're alright here. Obviously, it gets louder and more annoying as the night gets later, but maybe I'm just old and crochety. Bah humbug.

I been here several times and never had bad meal. I've had the buffalo chkn wrap, buffalo pizza, chkn club salad, and nachos. They have great daily lunch specials but you have to purchase a beverage. I usually drink water but order the special bc it's usually less expensive then ordering at reg price. Service is usually good.

Ok, this bar has me torn. On one hand, they have great specials. How can you beat $2 ANY DRAFT pints on Thursdays? (They have 32 beers on draft) Or $3 U-Call-It's on Wednesdays? On the other thand, the service is horrible. I have been there several times since moving back into the area a few months ago, especially after learning about their Thursday night draft special. When I have sat at the bar, I have struggled to be served by the bartenders even when it wasn't very busy. The bartenders would just randomly disappear for 10 minutes. When I have gone to Bulldog with my fiance and had a meal at a table in the bar, we have consistently had to wait for service. We have finished our drinks and wanted another, and had to wait forever for our server to come back. By then we normally pay our bill and go. Don't get me wrong, I really don't mind the place. If the service was even average this place would have easily earned 4 stars from me. But the service really has proven to be sub-par over many visits. I still go there every other week for a good beer on the cheap. Also, the food is average- I would never go there for a meal by itself but I definitely order food after having a few. I recommend checking out their website, looking at their specials, and checking it out on a night that suits your tastes.

Uhh ...where do I begin! Ambiance - negative 1 star Service - negative 1 star Food - 0 stars Beer Selection - 3 stars (just average) Recommend to: not even my worst enemies. I really do not get it. Bulldog Ale House took over Buds, in Roselle, and turned it into a place you want to be. Lively, dare a I say a bit upscale and with a wonderful beer selection. When it came time to entertain some family from out of town, I suggested this location, as it is a bit closer to my house. What was I thinking?? First, good luck trying to find your way in. There are half a dozen doors, and they are not marked, and tinted. Some extremely smart people I met up had the same comment, of not being able to find their way in. Matter of fact, I went to the same door that I came in on, and 3 of us wrestled with it, to get our way out ....ugh. Second, we all felt guilty taking up our servers time, as she clearly had better things to do, than to provide service. Third, they must have caught a Denny's-going-out-of-business sale to furnish this dump. Fourth, the food was drab, they got orders wrong, twice, pizza is laughably overprices for being so mundane (the large and medium are the same size, but priced differently). Fifth, you will not find the awesome beer selection here, that you might find in Rosellle. There was only one beer that I found to be drinkable, but nothing else ...yawn. Ale house? How about Bud Light house.... Sixth, they went to the slutty Scottish whore store to get the servers uniforms, which seem out of place at a Denny's. (yeah I do not go to Tilted Kilt either) Seventh, I cannot tell you how embarrassed I was to suggest this place. How could they have gotten one place so right, then the other so wrong???

More of a generic "sports bar" than an "ale house" really. The tap list consisted of 31 beers tonight with 11 of them being craft beers. The rest of then were your typical Bud, Miller, Coors fare. That's fine if that's what you are looking for, but a self-proclaimed ale house should hold itself to a higher standard. I had their wrap and an appetizer which was fine if just typical sports bar food. Service from the wait staff was good, with only one bartender appearing to be a bit annoyed. I don't see why as the place was maybe half capacity. It's not what I was expecting, and I'd likely not come back. I tipped generously, knowing it was going to be the last time they would see me.

My wife and I went here for lunch on a Saturday. When we walked in I was immediately hit with the stench of old spilled beer... this took me back to living in a fraternity house during college, the smell can't be mistaken. We ordered two burgers, both of which were cooked properly so that is a positive note. However, the one thing I found to be rather poor is that the burgers were simply frozen patties from a SYSCO or GFS. The waitresses all wear jean shorts and tall socks it's a rather poor look. The restaurant has numerous water leaks stains on the ceiling tiles. Needless to say I can't recommend this place or plan on going back.

This place is SO much better than Wild Bull. Yes, they have the same menu, but the service here was amazing, and that is really important to me. Lately, it seems as if service has gone downhill lately, and Bulldog Ale House goes above and beyond. First of all, it was $1 burger night. Yes, a $1 for a 1/4 lb burger. AWESOME! Mind you, it's not Kobe beef or anything, but it definitely gets the job done!! We also ordered nachos, salad, fries (crinkle and seasoned) and the brownie bottom pie dessert. All of the food was good!! Especially the dessert (they were out of the apple dessert I wanted, though, so that was kind of sad, but the brownie made an acceptable substitute!). The only strange part was that the nachos came out, and then our salads came out WITH the food. So you were compelled to eat the salad while the fries got cold. So that was a little strange. Our server's name was Jordan, and she was SUCH a sweetheart! Very attentive and friendly. And a dirty dish never sat on our table for more than 10 seconds before it was whisked away, even if it was by the manager. The manager was even very attentive--she was checking up on things, making sure the meal was good, etc. You could tell she cared about the restaurant! I will definitely be returning soon!!

We had family in town and were looking for a place to watch the Blackhawks, have a few beers and get lunch. Turned out we made a bad decision going to Bulldog Ale House. While the beer selection was OK, everything else about our experience was fair to bad. Drink orders were frequently screwed up, the food was bland at best and service was terrible. For example, someone in our group ordered a personal cheese pizza and got a meat lovers pizza instead. They apologized and brought out the correct pizza but it was drastically undercooked and inedible. Despite the plethora of mistakes, the manager was only willing to comp the pizza, saying, "that's all I can do." No, dude, you can do more. You can train your staff better, taste your own crappy food and at least pretend you want repeat business.

Horrible experience. Unprofessional manager who started dropping f bombs within 5 minutes of me getting there because he thought I was someone else. I don't care who you are but represent your business. I am a paying customer and don't deserve the treatment. As a manager you need to be professional all times. I highly recommend spending your time and hard earned money somewhere else.

I was pleasantly surprised with this place. Went with a group of 4 of us, and our baby on a Sunday afternoon. There were a good amount of people there. Our waitress was very attentive and sweet. Two in our party had the boneless wings, and thought they were very good. One had the burger and also gave it high regards. I had a chicken wrap and really enjoyed it. They had a bloody Mary special for $5 on Sunday, which was tasty. My only complaint was that the bloody Mary should have a pickle spear, instead of a pickle slice. Always a spear, people! But, I digress.... Overall, good food, good service, clean and great prices too. We will definitely be back!

I've been here a handful of times and every time it has been enjoyable. Read this review based solely on Thursday night specials however, since those are the nights I go to Bulldog Ale House. Thursdays are awesome because it's $2 pint night! Any beer (or beer combination) is only $2! By beer combination I mean one of my favorite beers, the Black and Blue (half Blue Moon, half Guiness). Their boneless hot wings aren't half bad neither, and their kitchen is open fairly late. Service here is not too bad, but, as mentioned before, this is based on Thursday nights, which are super busy. If you wish to find seating for your party, I suggest you show up a little early, although there is plenty of seating. TV's, sports, beer, food, friends, need I say more?

I was in the area looking for some grub and I heard that Bulldog Ale House might have a decent beer selection. I parked in the lot and thought I had scored a pretty good spot because it was right next to the patio. Then I realized that the door is on the other side. The walk didn't kill me, but I was puzzled for a second. When I entered I was surprised to see that this was another bar with girls wearing short plaid skirts. I had been to Tilted Kilt and was not particularly impressed. I did not think my chances for good beer were good. Girls hired for their looks and willingness to wear short skirts are not typically about the beer. Don't get me wrong... I like pretty waitresses, but good service is still the most important thing This place is big. I was seated in an area just beyond the hostess station, and there were tables in all directions. I didn't feel overly crowded. There were far too many TVs, with one on practically every surface. I guess people like that. I don't. There was no beer menu on the table, but I didn't know whether there was supposed to be one or not. When the waitress stopped by, I asked what they had on tap with a preferance for something besides BMC. She then realized I had no tap list and retrieved one from another table. Leaving me to look it over, I noticed that there were indeed a few possibilities. Rogue Dead Guy caught my eye for one. There were also listings simply stating "Goose Island" and "Leinenkugel ". As soon as I started asking the waitress for some details on these selections, I realized that she knew nothing about beer. Looking around at the other patrons, I noticed a lot of Bud Light. What a shame. So long story short, the Bulldog does have a few good beers on tap at a reasonable price per pint. I sampled a few and despite being served in a Miller Lite glass, I don't have any real complaints about the beer. I ordered some food. It was typical bar food. Nothing that stood out for me. It wasn't great, it wasn't bad. The service was fair. Our waitress did not really seem to be trying. She wasn't rude, but just because you are wearing a cute little outfit doesn't mean you can skip the personality. In fact, I think it may even set the expectation that you are an outgoing person that may even like your job a little. Sell the fantasy a little or go work at Denny's. At least there I expect the waitresses to be wishing for death. So overall, The Bulldog Ale House was big, clean and had some good brews. The sports bar atmosphere was not quite my style and the pretty girls are a nice gimmick but not enough to make me rave about this place. I might stop in again if I was in the area, but I wouldn't make this a destination.

Came here for a friend's birthday 6/28. Service is awful. Bartenders took 20 mins to get us a drink. The bar was not packed and plenty of bar space open. Then acted like we were bothering them. They seem like they really hate their jobs. We saw 1 bar tender pour a drink with Honey Jack. So we ordered 2 shots of honey Jack with a different bartender when she finally came around. She said we only have this and held up Jim Beam. So we pointed to the bottle of honey jack we just saw the other bartender use. She said "oh here its $5.75 a shot". I gave 2 stars because the decor is nice and it has potential but with service like this it probably wont last long. Your employees can make or break your business. Music is pretty much top 40.

I have been looking for a bar type restaurant to go to in my new home town for awhile. Must say I was quite pleased with the food! Especially the Cajun Chicken Pasta. Wasn't overpowering and totally worth the fat/calorie intake! Beer was chilled perfectly and our server kept our drinks coming! Sure there were some things I didn't like but the good outweighed the bad by a landslide so my review is positive. Sit in the bar for a better vibe and some good people watching!

This place was alright. We only went here because we had a coupon. When we entered, we were given the choice of seating which was a plus. We started with the mini corndogs which were fresh out of the oven, but nothing special. Ordered the wings and didn't like them much. Got three different flavors, none of which I really liked, and they were not hot coming out of the kitchen. The ribs didn't taste very good and the bbq sauce didn't even cover the whole slab. The popcorn shrimp tasted fine but much better could be found elsewhere. The seasoned fries were cooked well, but lacked seasoning. For dessert, we ordered the apple crumble a la mode. That was actually pretty good even though the ice cream melted too fast. Overall, the service was really slow and our waitress didn't smile. For our first time there, it wasn't really impressive. We probably won't be going back anytime soon unless we get another coupon.

Fantabulous! Just wish this place was near my Elmhurst home because I would definitely spend a full Sunday afternoon watching football. I had the Bulldog burger that was tasty and well priced and the client I was entertaining enjoyed a chicken sandwich that he thought was superb. The seating arrangement and open space as well as the user friendly set up of the TV's makes this an attractive spot to watch games. I found the service to be solid, and yes, the girls are there for a little eye candy. The "freshness" of the atmosphere helps keeping the Moe's tavern depression from creeping in and I felt confident in the value I got as I paid my bill. If I had a "DD", I would definitely make this a destination for an afternoon of football debacle.

Third time is a charm? This Ale House's predecessors Vangelo's couldn't cut it and Jade did not last long. It will be interesting to see if Bulldog have what it takes to stick around. Watch out Flip Flops, there's another bar on the strip. Grand opening was on Feb 25, which I missed but heard they packed the house. I came during the week to check out their happy hour menu that they advertised online. The waitress didn't even offer me their specials and I had to ask for it. Even then, she didn't really know what they offered for happy hour. They also offer daily specials, which is included in the menu. The $1 burgers on Monday sounds like a good deal! The inside is very nicely decorated, spacious and clean. They have both a dining area and a bar area. There were 2 pool tables and some arcade games near the bar area. The Ale House burger I ordered was tasty and came with a side of my choice, which was crinkled cut fries. Service was the only downside to this place, but perhaps it'll get better once they get into the swing of things.

So excited this place was opening in my neighborhood but that was where my excitement stopped. Stopped in 1 pm on a Monday. Waited and waited to be seated while 2 bartenders and a waitress stared at us. In the time we waited 2 other parties came in. The place was not busy but not empty either. Ordered soup which was not hot and couldn't find waitress to complain. Burgers were luke warm. Decent taste and price but poor execution. They offer great deals so we have gone back and given them a second chance. Had a better experience the second time with both food and service. The food is average. A better place for drinks than food.

Went here for dinner last night with the hubby and our 4 kids. Was great to find out that kids eat free on Tuesdays!!! BONUS! The food was great. Nachos were outstanding. I had the Magna Fry burger, wasn't sure if I would like it, it was AWESOME. My oldest(16) had the all you can eat wings, we sure got our monies worth...our 13 year old had a burger with bacon and bbq sauce, he loved it. The younger ones ate of the kiddie menu, boneless wings and cheeseburger. Hubby got ribs. He is picky about his ribs and loved the sauce. This was our second time here and everything was great both times! Can't wait to go back and try the pulled pork!

This was my first visit to Bulldog's - Overall I give it a solid 3 stars despite a few mis-haps (and you really have to read the 'fine print' of certain things), but nothing major. Read on: I went with my family on $1 burger night (Monday's). First, we ordered an appetizer (nachos) before the meal.) Nachos were 'okay to good' - not worth the 7.99 to almost 9.00 though. Two things - we asked for them just beef, cheese, and beans only - seems simple enough. They came with tomatos all over them. Not that huge of a deal, because the tomatos just came right off. Secondly - the chips themselves were a bit strange. Hard to describe - but when biting into them, thet weren't cruncy and at times felt like hard-to-bite-off 'pita' or some other type of bread (yes, no exagerration), and not the standard crunchy nacho chips. Kinda weird. Okay tasting but wouldn't get again even for $3. ** LASTLY - be careful what you ask for. General condiments like 'guacamole' on the side (most places this just comes standard or on the side) are an extra .99. This makes a 7.99 plate now near 9.00. Overall they were 'okay' but not that great and not worth 8 or 9 dollars. Meal: Burgers were decent. Again - read the fine print. If you ask for "cheesburgers', these are not included in the 'special' and are a bit extra. Okay no big deal. I ordered a simple hamburger with ketchup only. When it arrived, it was just a plain hamburger. No kethcup. I had to put the ketchup on myself. Again, no big deal - but again a simple request not done. My family's other burgers were all okay. They were good, but nothing spectatcular. Would I come back here - maybe. Place was clean and appeared classy - though it wasn't crowded when we went. I have heard when the place gets packed at later hours of the night, they have had instances of trouble. Our waitresses and hostess were decent and attentive and attractive, thats part of the gimmick though to draw business into this place. I'd go back, but there are better food restuarants - and double check your orders and READ FINE PRINT ON THINGS!! 3 out of 5 stars.

Two stars is being generous, and it's only because the food was pretty good and the bar tenders were attentive. We called ahead to ask if we could make a reservation for 10 people around 6pm, they said don't worry about it you'll be fine....fast forward 1 hr 15 mins we finally get a seat. My friend tells the host/manager ? not sure who she was that she should get a free shot since it's her birthday and since we had to wait, the girl says Sure...but how about ALL your friends buy one and then I'll give you a free shot. Um, right. So, we order our food and it takes quite a while to come out and once it does 4 out of 5 of the people on my side of the table's orders were messed up- no chili on the fries, no sauce on the wrap, wrong sauce, NO sauce and I got 8 wings and a bonless one when I ordered 10 wings. YIKES, not sure about how the other half of the table's came out. One plus is when we pointed out the wing situation the girl we told did bring me a free beer. When we were wrapping up, tons of people kept coming to the table trying to get us to leave...but at the same time to buy more stuff. We had planned to stay the night there, but after all that decided we were done. I have no plans to frequent this establishment again. Get it together Bulldog!

Bulldog Ale House is not a bad place to spend some time for lunch or dinner. I spent Mother's Day here (sans mother, but with my brother and my wife) checking the place out. In a sense, Bulldog is sort of a Tilted Kilt knockoff, but with short shorts or green skirts and less in-your-face cleavage. I got a Bulldog Burger, which has bacon, mushrooms, cheese, and possibly lettuce and tomato. It alleged to come with a bleu cheese sauce and hot sauce, but I don't remember the burger being hot or getting bleu cheese on the side. I did get onion rings, which were nice and crispy. The burger itself was well cooked, and the bacon was a nice touch. It had a nice hint of charcoal, too. It's not the best burger in town, but I don't regret getting it. My wife had a ham and pineapple pizza, which was every bit the definition of average. Thick, chewy crust, canned pineapple, ham of unknown origin with unassuming tomato sauce and cheese... it's not terrible, there just isn't anything "signature" about it. My brother had fish tacos, which I didn't try, but the spiced mayo that went with it was quite good; something I wish I'd gotten with my onion rings. Overall, I'd probably try this place again. Maybe I'll make a run at the nachos or wings next time, though.

Found this place through Yelp! Typical sports bar place with waitresses in short shorts. Ordered some type of grape mixed drink that tasted watered down. For dinner I got the buffalo chicken pizza and it was great. Crust was light and crispy and sauce was tasty. Overall a good choice. Thanks yelp.

I give it three stars but it has room to improve. Their servers are typical of the style restaurant. Personality is completely missing. I have not gone to drink at the bar yet but on 2 occasions have gone to eat. Each time was pretty much the same. Service was "Meh" food was good. I just think that the staff needs to work on their personalities and this place would be much better. If you want to watch some sports this is a good place to go! They have a lot of TV's all around to watch and the prices don't seem too absurd to me. So once again, 3 stars, but on their way to a fourth in my opinion.

Perhaps the third time IS a charm! Begrudgingly went here with some friends this past weekend and ordered the boneless wings (only .39 each on Sundays). Their wings give Hooters a run for their money - they are large (with more meat than breading) and coated in your desired sauce. Verdict: delicious! Now I've got a go-to whenever friends/family want to come here since the wings are a definite winner!

I was torn between 3 or 4 stars. I come here alot more out of convience because its so close to me. Not to say that its bad tho. Prices 5/5 everything is priced reasonably with good specials. Service 5/5 they are there when i need them Beer selection 4/5 could use more, if you are gonna call yourself an Ale house Atmosphere 4/5 kind of dated they have some arcades, pool tables, dart board i come here often never see them used. they have a outdoor space that basically feels like you are sitting in a parking lot. They should decorate it with some plants to seperate it from the parking lot, wooden fence, plants, tiki torches. Music 1/5 they play horrible music. when i come on fri or sat night i don't want to hear classic rock. Makes me want smoke a joint and pass out. it doesn't energize me to stay longer and drink more. I think this place could be awesome if they change music, make a better outdoor patio.

Overall, disappointing to the point of recommending that potential new patrons 'just say no'. I suppose its a decent place to catch a game if you find a drink special you like, the hamburgers are decent, but everything else our party of seven had was so-so, the beers were expensive and the service...OK at best. Where the place really fell down was thanks to the manager. It was bad enough they screwed up a pizza order, but to fix it by sending out the right pizza that was horribly undercooked, and then make things worse by having the waitress make empty offers to adjust the bill only to ultimately remove the charge for the inedible pizza only? Sure, when we then complained about the deception, an additional $10 gift certificate was offered, but at that point, the manager's true colors already showed and our family evening out was already ruined. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Our main purpose to visit this place was to check out the ale Mecca touting over 70 types of beer. When told that the night's special was PBR, we wondered if we took a wrong turn and ended on a different planet. We later learned from the waitress that their ale collection is at the Roselle location instead. After having pored through menu, they appear to have a few craft beers worth staying for. The other reason is our server. She 'accentuates' the outfit but I can't say the same for the others who look like Tilted Kilt seconds. As for the food, Saturday was 'build a burger' night. The burgers were pretty good with unlimited toppings at an awesome price. Overall, great visit...thanks in part to the 'eye-friendly' blonde server. ;-). Next stop, the Roselle location!

This is a great place to go with friends. Its a bar restaurant, seems to keep a younger crowd on the weekends. Has pool tables and a few games. They have a nice fenced in patio area as well. Food here is awesome. The burgers are some of the best I can find in the area. They have good specials every night of the week. Tons of Tvs with all the games on. Service here is almost always good but they do seem to get a lot of new staff in and out of here so sometimes the waitress' can be a little off their game. All in all I really like this place.

I've lived in Carol Stream my entire life. It doesn't take a lifetime of living here to realize that this town is BORING AS HECK. That's why Bulldog Ale House is refreshing. I've been here 3 or 4 times and it is a pretty fun place to go out when you dont feel like spending the $$ or time to make your way out to Chicago or Naperville. I'd prefer the latter two options, but this place is less than a mile from my house and I'm not made of money. I'd give this place 3 stars but because it is in Carol Stream, it gets 4 for convenience and because there hasnt ever really been a fun place like this in this town before. Service was decent- our first server got cut halfway through our meal and she was much faster than the second one. I had a burger here before that was really good. My friend had a shrimp wrap twice, which she loved, but the second time it was about 75% lettuce, 15% shrimp and 10% wrap. The music was good- lots of electro on Saturday night (which is my favorite) and the crowd seemed like a lot of people my age (early 20s). (I did not go to GBN so I cant attest to the high school reunion criticism I hear often from friends in town). Drinks are good and reasonably priced. They have good specials most nights of the week. Overall, I'll definitely come back here again because of its location and would recommend it to other locals

Nice looking place, bad food and service...that sums up my experience. Waitresses are dressed in low-cut tops and skirts. Some are cute, some are not. I went here for my first time on a recent Thursday night around 7-7:30 PM. The place was fairly busy, but had a lot of open tables. They had $2 drafts and $.89 chicken strips; I decided to take advantage of the chicken strips deal. After sitting for 15 minutes with no waitress visit, other than the initial visit, I ordered. I wanted 4 strips, but was told that I can only get 3 or 6; I ordered 6. I guess their POS system is set up to do those quantities. Not a big deal, but it would be helpful if the menu stated that. I also got a 1/2 order of fries. The 1/2 order is big...not sure what the full order looks like. I got a beer as well. The beer was delivered quick and in a large glass. The beer selection is pretty solid. The food came out ultra quick, which is usually not a good sign. The chicken comes with a sauce and celery. It was cut in small to medium sized pieces and was very dry looking. The taste matched the look. I thought I ordered fresh chicken, not dehydrated chicken. The sauce helped moisten the parched meat, but I was still unimpressed with this nonsense. On to the fries...also dry and stiff. These things must have been sitting under the heat lamp for a while. I usually don't send food back, but I did with the fries. A new greasier and hotter batch came out a few minutes later. It was almost as if they just took the fries that I sent back and dropped them in the oil again. While they were crispier and hot, the inside was still stale and dry tasting. Come on, who can't do fries right? Food (at least the food that I had) is not the strong point of Bulldog. Why is it even called Bulldog anyway? Dumb. The bathroom was decent, but they don't have paper towels to dry your hands. This is a huge pet peeve of mine. People generally HATE hand dryers. This place, along with all of the others that only have hand dryers, need to stop being cheap and put paper towels in their bathrooms. Bulldog Ale House is just another bar that offers food. I would possibly go here for drinks only, but never again for food. Maybe they'd offer better food if there was some competition in the area.

I like Bulldog Ale House, and although they get 4 stars on my review, the reviewer average of 3.5 stars is probably more accurate. Admittedly, my expectations were low when I walked in. The signage on the windows showed some burgers- a regular burger, a double, and a triple. All the burgers in the ad looked exactly the same which meant that the ad agency simply took one of the burgers and Photoshopped it with a cut and paste function. I'm an artist by trade, and stuff like that annoys me- it's sloppy work and it makes the food look bizarre and unappealing. Why couldn't they have just made three of their burgers and photographed them??? These are the things I think about. Reader, you probably don't care, but I'm just saying. Anyway. Have you ever gone out for a beer? And then you got hungry at the bar and ordered some food? Yes? Then you know what to expect from this place. There are a lot of beer choices, both on tap and in the bottle, and the menu plays it pretty safe. If you're looking for a bold new location with a ton of surprises to impress your first date, this isn't it. For any other occasion it's fine because Bulldog seems to know the type of business they are running and they do a fine job with it. Normally, I'd give a place like this (see also my Stonewood Ale House review) 3 stars, but there are a few things worthy of note. First, the pulled pork sandwich is one of the best in the area- especially for the price. Frequently, when I get pulled pork at restaurants, someone has done something "special" with the pork to make it an $11 meal that ends up being sub par. Either the pork is tough or unpleasantly crisp or tastes like it's been sitting in a refrigerator or freezer for days. The pork at Bulldog was sweet, smoky, tender, and simple. That's all I ask. Secondly, while Bulldog might be very by-the-numbers, the value is absolutely outstanding. Portion sizes are spot on, the food and service (over all) are great, and the prices are surprisingly low- especially on Thursday when any draft beer is $2. Dive bars are more expensive. Seriously. Bulldog's location isn't the most conspicuous- it's set back a bit from the corner of Lies and Gary, but it's in a great spot if you visit in summer. After your meal, you can go for a walk around the many parks in the area. It's quite nice. I would have to say that this place surprised me. If you want a surprising experience at a fancy bar, go to The Lucky Monk, Ram, or some bar downtown. If you want a dive bar experience, go to Lunar in Villa Park. If you are hungry and just want a beer and a burger for a great price, look no further.

Been there only once and won't return. Food is very low quality and service is mediocre. Decor and atmosphere is cheap and rundown. For a place with a full page of burgers in their menu I would expect that they wouldn't just serve a cheap frozen patty. Severs are dressed distastefully and less than attentive. Glad we used a gift card and didn't actually have to pay for this meal.

Went for dinner at the new Roselle location with my husband last night and the food was good. Roselle really needs a great neighborhood place like this and I think with a few corrections, Bulldog could make it. Our server, Caitlin, was sweet and helpful. She was struggling with the computer system but was on top of any issues. The food was good for the price which is pretty inexpensive. My husband had the fish, shrimp and chips and it was good, crispy and not greasy. I had the steak fajitas and the flavor was good though it would have been nice if they were sizzling when they came out of the kitchen. The Cheddar Broccoli soup was excellent. And the Brownie Sundae was definitely a two person treat. The atmosphere was an improvement over Ballpark, the restaurant that was in this location last. We liked that they moved the bar to the side to allow for more tables. The music was at a nice level for talking and was actually a great mix of rock and country. The TV's were everywhere but not intrusive. It would be great if they had some live music on the weekends. Read some of the reviews from over the weekend, and having owned a bar, it sounds like the management irritated a few drunks, so we took those reviews in with a grain of salt. Glad we did, it's worth a visit. Bulldog owners and managers, please work out the kinks in your processes and make this place work for Roselle, we need you more than you need us. And thanks for not over serving alcohol, we don't need drunks on our roads.

Awesome burgers!! I had the breakfast burger (comes with a fried egg on it) and it was one of the best ive had. The staff seemed to want to rush us out of there but friendly. Great place to watch games as well.

ROSELLE, IL LOCATION Heard they took over the old Bud's place location and we wanted to check it out. WOW! They improved the look, without getting rid of the upper tier seating that was great about the old place. I loved the new layout. We went opening weekend so I think they were getting some kinks out of the system. Our entrees came out before our appetizer. Our waitress offered to give us the appetizer for free, but when we got the app it looked like it got thrown together at the last minute. Great drink specials and wings were ok. I'll defitnley go back on just the atmosphere alone!

It's a good "go-to" place if you and your friends just want to go out and get a drink. Depending on the day, you can't always hear that well when you're inside, so if you're looking for a place to relax and talk I recommend sitting on the outside patio if the weather is good. Otherwise, they deliver on what you'd expect: pretty good drink specials, decent beer selection, service is pretty good too.

I really wanted to like this place but alas, the food was average at best. Waitress getups were cute but I am thinking they rely on them to get their tips far more than trying to provide good service and a smile once in a while. They might want to re-think that attitude when serving women. Just saying. Had to ask for sweetener and lemon for my iced tea so many times that I just gave up by the 2nd glass. Had to ask for Tabasco sauce twice. Extra napkins - twice again. The server made me feel as if I should have had the decency to ask for everything all at once so I didn't inconvenience her or interrupt her from her very important conversation by the register. Our table had mozzarella sticks, basket of fries, chicken club salad, a tuna melt, and a burger. While nothing was BAD, as previously mentioned, it was all just average bar and grill food. If you think I don't know what ABOVE average bar and grill food is... please see my review(s) for Dino's in Glendale Heights. Now THAT is the bar and grill food to END all bar and grill food! Even though we came with a coupon, I can't say I would be back, even with the same coupon savings.

There's a special for everyday. my fav? Tuesdays: Karaoke night (guests, bartenders, and managers all included actually everyone's really good-it's not miserable to listen to!) + $10.99 all you can eat chicken wings and $3 imported beers. Wednesdays: $3 you-call-it IS AMAZING, that's right people---anything you want is $3 [except the martinis which are $4.50], but come on, patron shots? It's packed wednesday nights for sure. However-fish fry on fridays? tastes like fish flavored water with batter. Pass. Cherry coke is good for the non-alcoholics, it's coke with grenadine! like a shirley temple but with coke! Dessert: favorite is brownie bottom pie--a skillet of baked brownie topped with ice cream mmmmm.... The hostess is super cute ;p Hi Bern! Most of the waitresses are really cool too.

My family and I came here mainly for the food. The environment setting is not good for young children,. The waitress is cute and dress sexy. The price is reasonable. The food taste great. I like their buffalo wings and my son love their bulldog burger. We always get great service every time we come here.

I've been here many times. The food is great, but service not so much. All the female servers are partial to men. Whenever I've been there with only my female friends/family, the female servers were not very friendly at all. But, when we go there with men, the female servers are friendly and attentive. Many people I've been there with have also noticed this. It's very annoying and makes me not want to go there when considering a restaurant. Recently, went to lunch there, in the dining room area, and they had loud hard rock music playing. You could barely talk to each other. Definitely not a place to go to lunch with other ladies or families. Great daily specials, especially $1 burgers on Monday, but some other things need improving.

Pros: Food was decent. Not fantastic, but decent. My burger was quite good though this is certainly a place where you don't count calories. Our server was attentive and friendly. Cons: Weak drinks. Loud. Hey, I can understand...the bar is going for sports and for guys primarily, but come on, the people that were in the restaurant when I was there with my parents and aunt and uncle were all more towards their age, with a few my age thrown in for good fun. Still, the music was far too loud. Turn the music up after the dinner crowd has come and gone and people are just hanging out noshing on appetizers, drinking beer, and watching sports on the zillions of tvs. A major con from my POV was the server uniforms. Besides the fact that the color isn't exactly flattering, what is the Bulldog Ale House trying to do? Be a Tilted Kilt? And believe me, I think the girls at the Tilted Kilt are pretty humiliated to wear those outfits, much less the girls at the Bulldog Ale House. Would I go back with my parents? No. Would I go back with friends my own age? Maybe if we couldn't decide on anywhere else. Would I take a date here or go back by myself? No. There are far better restaurants out there for me to leave my money at. Want ok food, lots of sports, and a loud bar that is aimed at the young college frat type of crowd? go here.

Let's start with the good, Bulldog's has great burgers. Juicey, flavorful and big enough to fill you up. Their $1 burger specials make it easy to go out on a budget. They also have 32 beers on tap, with nightly specials that allow you to sample without breaking the bank. Their wings and tenders are good, especially on the all you can eat nights. I have sampled the all you can eat fish fry and was not overwhelmed. It was ok but not something to write home (or Yelp) about. The first time we went for fish on a Friday in Lent, they ran out by 8PM. But to be fair that was during their first month in business. The Spaghetti and Meatball all you can eat special is also only ok. All in all this is a great place to enjoy pub food, a beer and a game on the big screens located eveywhere you look. As a final note, whenever there has been a problem, the staff and managers have always been on the spot to put things right.

If I could give it no stars I would. Waited 20mins for service at our table watching the server talk to everyone but our table then on the way out the server asked why were leaving then when told said oh well that's not my fault...

Bad service, bland food. Not sure why anyone would want to come back here after th experience we had. Most of our orders were messed up, and the food we got wasn't even up to bar food standards. Our waitress was nice but between her, the bartender and the kitchen, there is tons of room for improvement. We won't be back.

***THEY DON'T EVEN DESERVE A 1 STAR RATING*** 2 hours ago, I patroned Bulldog Ale House to watch the Packers/Saints season opening NFL game. I left far earlier than I would have preferred due to the insulting customer service I received from the manager (Dominika)... First off, I (and the individuals in my party) waited over 15-20 minutes for a beer. Our waitress was never around. Then, I finally had the chance to order a burger. I ordered it MEDIUM. it came out WELLDONE. Since my server wasn't around for me to complain, I had no choice BUT to eat the burger I was given... When my server FINALLY came by, I complained the it was WAY overcooked & that I was unhappy with what I had ordered. My server, Aimee, got her manager involved in my complaint. The manager, Dominika, informed me that since I'd had eaten HALF of my burger she could only take off HALF price... I, in turn, explained that I had no choice but to eat the burger I was given due to the SLOW service I was receiving... I told the manager that that was unacceptable and that I should have the whole item taken off my check because I was not served what I had ordered. She (the manager) AGAIN refused to remove the item from my check. I then explained that her refusal to secure a NEW CUSTOMER (this was my first ever visit) was out of line and not a way to conduct business. She wouldn't budge & stood her ground. After she refused to accommodate my request, I saw your manager talking about my complaint with other employees (THEY WERE BLATANTLY STARING IN MY DIRECTION)... The way the manager addressed my issue & conducted herself was inexcusable!! My complaint was ignored & I was ridiculed... As a patron, I will never return to this establishment... If this is how they train thier managers to handle customer complaints, they will not be in business long... I sent their GM an email explaining that:you should be aware that your manager Dominika is DIRECTLY responsible for the loss of customers... * While I doubt the GM will contact me to address the issue, I wanted others to be aware...

Okay, first off, I'll admit I'm not a huge bar person. I also realize that Bulldog recently opened, so they're probably still working out the kinks. Unfortunately, my experience was so mediocre that I don't know if I'd ever go back for food. The drink specials are really good though, so I could see going back just for drinks. There are also tons of TVs, some pool tables, and a dart game or two. I went with a group of eight on a Thursday night around 9:30PM. We were seated in the dining area, which is pretty spacious. So far, so good. Ordered a drink special and the food special, which was cheap chicken fingers. The waitress let us know she was new, so if things were a little off, at least we knew why. Things went very, very wrong though. She messed up nearly every order, and her shift ended, so she left in the middle of service. Another waitress attempted to pick up the slack, but it was too late. Service was generally disorganized and slow, and food came out inconsistently. Many of us didn't get the correct sauces or amounts of chicken fingers, which would have been okay if the food and sauce weren't so mediocre. The lemon pepper sauce was basically separated oil and lemon pepper goop on the bottom. It was seriously inedible. We got it on the side, so maybe it's better when it's actually on the fingers, but I have no desire to try them again. Village Tavern's chicken fingers blow these out of the water. It wasn't bad enough that I'd never go back, but based upon this experience, I can't rate it any higher. The atmosphere is good, but the food and service are lacking.

Drinkers Beware!!! Apparently, this establishment puts a $20 hold on all credit cards regradless of if you only purchase one drink. Yea, how do I know this? I was mis-charged by this bar and told I couldn't get my money refunded to my card for 15-30 days. By mischarged I mean, the frazzled waitress charged me for my friends drinks plus my own when we were on two different tabs and had both given our cards to her. Days later after seeing this on my bank account, I called and talked to their so-called manager (Dino, Vino, Vinnie, or the Situation (whatever his name is) who hung up on me once) he acted like he knew what had happened to my card and so quickly informed me of their $20 hold policy. Apparently, they are trying to cover their butts from people walking out on tabs. Although this is rediculous, this is not what happened to my card. When I told him this was not the case, he had to call me back. After waiting for the return call he eventually told me my friend didn't pay for their drinks and I'd have to cover her $20 tab. Umm, no I'm sorry. A reputable company knows a customer is always right. If your waitress messes up then that's on YOU. Not me. I demanded my money back, after which he said he could send me a gift card. I replied no because I never wanted to return. I was also told that he had to WAIT for his waitress to return later in the week to get money from her. Can you not just refund me my money now? What a joke for a bar. We ended the conversation agreeing on me waiting an crazy amount of time to refund my money to my account, for a tab that wasn't mine. What do you know? By the end of that week I had a $20 gift card in the mail after I had specified that I wanted my account refunded. Ugh!!! I'm sad to say, I returned on a sunday for some minature chicken wings. I didn't think chicken wings could be that small. Bottom line is, this place is mediocre. Mediocre food, mediocre service, and terrible terrible management. If you insist on hanging out here, pay with cash as they clearly use and abuse credit cards and then give you the run around when they fudge up. :)

We went in here last weekend because at the 4th of July parade, we sat across the street and said we would try it. It is not my favorite place, and thats not because we didnt have a good time, WE HAD A BLAST...but its one of those big, open, brightly lit 'family bars' which i dont agree with at all. The words BAR & CHILDREN should not be linked together. EVER. Thats my oponion. I guess, its like that Dave and Busters thing. We sat next to a couple that turned out to be a blast...anyway...they have a HUGE MUG and any domestic tap is only $4. cant beat that...however, they dont have MGD on tap. Now that sucks. They had bud products (yuck) and Miller lite...and a couple others...so that made me sad. Then we decided to try the chicken wings. I must say, they were the best wings Ive had out in a very long time. Seasoned perfectly and cooked where they peeled away from the bone easily. Very good wings. BRAVO. Will I go back. Sure. Check it out. .39 wings on sunday. give 'em a try.

Boneless wingers were great, burgers were good, fries crispy....will definitely hit this spot up again soon! I'm not sure what some of the other reviewers are looking for. Nice, cozy sports bar atmosphere; specials every day; servers were friendly and wearing sports shirts and shorts (not skanky at all). We will definitely go back....

I am reposting my review as the original was filtered. Why was it filtered Yelp? It's a legitimate bad review for a bad experience. I think people deserve to read actual member reviews whether they are good or bad. And so... Our first experience at Bulldog will be our last experience at Bulldog. It was awful. We split a burger and nachos. Well we tried to. The nachos came out first and we each grabbed one...and didn't touch another one. They were disgusting. The chip was doughy and disgusting. Sent them back and told them to forget the nachos. Burger came out next. It was a mushroom and swiss burger. It had a sliver of swiss and a couple mushrooms. Oh and let us not forget, it had mayo on it. ??? Mayo??? on a mushroom swiss burger? Ordered it medium and it came medium rare. The server came back and asked how the burger was and we just looked at her. She sent the manager over who asked what was wrong, gave us excuses and told us they would take the food off the bill. The Newcastle Drafts were great. But left there starving. I would never eat there again. A bar should be able to make decent nachos and burgers...Bulldog dropped the ball big time. Don't bother.

The space Bulldog Ale House took over looks a lot better than the way it used to be. I went with a group of 8 for fish fry friday: $9.99 all you can eat fish. The service was great - our waitress was friendly and on top of things all night. We never needed anything. The fish fry was just ok - not the best I've had, not the worst. I had to take a star away just because when I got my first beer, the top was all cracked off and I ended up with glass in my mouth. But that was a simple mistake that can happen anywhere and I won't hold it against them. I look forward to going to Bulldog throughout the summer. It's a nice, new, local bar and I suggest you give it a shot. The atmosphere was laid back and casual, and their drink and food specials cannot be beat.

If you want beer or good specials this is the place of you. On Thursday's they have $2 drafts. That is an amazing price that can't be beat. Atmosphere is cool. Typical bar with sports on screen. They also have events. On Tuesday's they have Karaoke and it's pretty damn fun/funny. When you order food, let's face it, it's bar food. Yes, that's right, it's -just- bar food. I know some people have been complaining about that. I have ordered the jalapeno poppers and they have been perfectly crispy on the outside every time so far. Curly fries are also great and crispy. Pizza is terrible, tastes frozen and mine smelled funky. Not sure if the plate was wet or something, but it killed my appetite. My boyfriend likes the dollar burger days...who can beat that? Even if it's just a burger with the typical dressings. I have ordered the cheese sticks too, and one time I got them lukewarm and not crispy. Guess it can be hit-or-miss sometimes. The female bartenders and some waitresses are cold, and not sure if it's a general hostility that women possess when interacting with other women, but yeah. Also, on even a busy-ish day you can expect to wait a couple of minutes to hail someone to order unless you do something to grab their attention.

Bulldog is a really great restaurant/bar. Its always poppin on wednesdays and fridays and saturdays. I love it there, I go there all the time. If there was one thing I could say tho is that at the bar and you want to order food you have to tell the bartenders and I feel like you always have to yell for them and stuff. Thats probably the only thing bad I can say.

Ive been coming here since it opened and I have to admit I love it! Their food is really good and they have drink specials all the time! They have pool tables next to the bar as well as a separate dining area which is kid friendly. The only thing I do not like is that this place tries to be like hooters by having the oddly all female staff wearing short skirts and chest popping shirts lol

I've been to the Bulldog a few times since it's opened. I'm impressed by the amount of beers on tap and the specials they offer ($2 draughts on Thursdays? yes, please). The menu is large, so I've only tried a few things. A group of us ordered the nachos and I wasn't really impressed. They were a little soggy and the presentation was kind of weird. The service has been good and the inside is newly updated with a lot of TV's. Overall, I think this is a great place to go grab some drinks. I'll be back!

I went last night for Monday Night Football, the Blackhawks, and Bulls games. There was a pretty good crowd with college kids back on X-Mas break. We participated in their trivia night. I had a double burger for $2 which was tasty. The waitress I had was a hotty and saw a couple others too. They also had a good variety of beers. I will be back.

We go for the food, not the booze, and have been here about 8 or 9 times since they opened. That should speak for itself. This restaurant offers great food, great service, friendly staff, reasonable pricing and their daily specials like $1 hamburgers are a great value. We also appreciate the fact that the separate dining area is quiet enoough to have a conversation, and it provides a good view of the many TVs.

I really do like Bulldog Ale House a lot. I have been there many times, either with my husband or my mother. The food, service, and atmosphere have always been great. The waitresses always friendly. When we have been there at night, the manager has even come around to talk with us and make sure everything was good. Today however, I was quite disappointed. I took my mother for lunch for the $5 daily lunch special, which is supposed to end at 2:00. We walked in at 1:54 (I checked my phone), and I informed the hostess we were there for the lunch speciall. We ordered right away. When we got the check, I informed the waitress that we were charged full-price. She checked with the manager, Louie, but he told her it was too late to change it. Period. Then he disappeared (nowhere to be found).. On principal, I did not feel this was right. The waitress was so sweet and understanding. I felt bad for her because she didn't know what to do. Then another waitress came over to help. She also was very sweet. They tried to contact another manager, but couldn't get a hold of him. Anyway, I told them I would pay for our $5 meals and my soda, along with tax. So I left $14 ( the bill should've been $12.50 plus tax) and gave the waitress a $5.00 tip separately so she knew my dissatisfaction was not directed at her. So, Louie, I hope you are happy that you ruined our lunch because of your laziness, and also took up way too much of our time trying to resolve this. I'm sure Bulldog Ale House will continue to thrive, and I hope it does. You, however, they can do without and will be much better off for it.
